Hello fellow School Nutrition Association Members—what a busy few months we have had! In March we had a delegation of 7 from South Dakota that went to Washington, DC for the Legislative Action Conference. We were fortunate to meet with all 3 representatives and discuss the issues that were brought forward in the SNA Issue Paper. While we were there, we were able to get a lot of information about the new meal patterns and implementation timelines. July 1 is the start date, so now more than ever it is important to make plans to attend this year’s School Nutrition Association of South Dakota Annual Conference. Charlotte has done an excellent job putting together the conference. Please look for the conference registration form and information in this issue. The New Regulations will be the focus! Also in this issue, you will find a complete report on the two task force committees along with closing out our tax exempt status!
I cannot believe that the year is already coming to a close. What an experience it has been leading the state association. Thank you for the opportunity to be your voice.
